The Hess Motorsport Yamaha YXZ 1000R/SS Steering Rack

Our rack is machined in house out of 6061 Billet Aluminum. We have designed this rack to be completely rebuildable. To reduce steering effort we have the pinion gear running on not one but two bearings and are using a very strong composite material that is embedded with Moly for our rack bushings. What does Moly do? Well, the Moly particles act as a dry lubricant to enhance the load bearing and wear capabilities while offering improved strength and rigidity while maintaining better fit and clearances. It also has less tendency to seize as bearings. We also tightened the tolerances and added a much larger support area to the rack gear to aid in strength and to prevent it from being damaged which is why we do not use a sprung tensioner on our rack. We have increased the travel to allow for a tighter turning radius and made the whole thing greaseable. This rack utilizes our Big Shaft rack Gear for the ultimate strength. 

Pair the rack with our rack support for the ultimate setup. Our rack support strengthens the week frame area from the backside of the mounting plate. The thin metal is prone to stretching around the bolts causing the rack bolts to loosen off. Simply knock the factory nut certs off the frame and replace them with our rack support. Our rack support is made from 7075 Billet Aluminum and is threaded and then jammed to ensure your rack wont come loose.
